๐ง Presentation Highlights
๐ฉ⚕️ Background
Children with medical complexity
(CMC) who require mechanical ventilation often experience significant physical
and psychological symptoms that affect their quality of life. Strengthening parental self-efficacy in
symptom management is crucial for improving outcomes.
In Hong Kong, home-based nursing
services support these families, but workforce shortages limit accessibility. A
proactive nurse-supported
mobile app offers an innovative way to extend care, enhance
nurse-parent interaction, and provide continuous home-based support.
๐ฌ
Study Aim
This study evaluates the
effectiveness of a 3-month
nurse-led mobile app intervention in improving parental
confidence in managing symptoms of children requiring mechanical ventilation.
It also examines real-world implementation using the RE-AIM framework (Reach,
Adoption, Implementation, Maintenance).
